Greenish Living

with one comment

So, I need to write about this more, because it’s been pretty consuming for a long time. And off and on throughout my life since the first time I heard about dolphins swimming into six-pack rings as a child or watched the commercial of the Native American dude crying about the litter. I grew up in Oklahoma… Trail of Tears, y’all. Making Indians cry is not farkin’ cool.

Living more green. And stuff. Not just green, because that’s the fun, crazy buzzword of the day. But other stuff, too. Stuff that may or may not be green or good for the planet, depending on how you look at it. Stuff that people who know me say is just part of me being a hippie. But I was born in the ’70s, so technically no. But yeah, OK, a little bit. Read the rest of this entry »

what the tests say about me

without comments

Just who the hell am I? Guess I’m always trying to find that out, and it seems it changes all the time, making it that much harder. Statistically I’m Stephanie. I’m a 27 year old female. I look like this:

27.jpg

…and often wish I was beautiful instead. I have a son, Jacob, who is absolutely the sweetest thing God ever made! I’m a big fan of dairy products. I love to wear sweats in the winter. I can’t see the red in my hair but everyone swears it is there. I am terribly clumsy yet have never had a surgery or a broken bone. I can’t see in the dark at all. I’m starting to like life again. I spend way too much time talking to people I’ve never met, and meeting people I’ve only talked to online, including most of the people I work with. I am a total textbook scorpio. Including the sex part… eegads.

In my search for self, I once took one of those personality tests. Here’s what it said:

—–

You Scored As an INTP:
The “Architect”
1% of the Population

INTP profile by Joe Butt

so what do I say about that? I don’t know. It sounds a lot like me in some ways. My feelings are all or none. I focus on things and often forget where I am or if I have eaten. I never know what day it is or what time it is. People say things and I’m vaguely aware that words were spoken, but I don’t know what they were. Haunting sense of impending failure… yeah, that’s accurate. Overanalytical? Just a tit bit. So how did I get that way? Shall we go into the nature vs. nurture thing? Can I take the liberty here to piss off all the people who say ’stop blaming your parents and get over it.’ Sure I can… So quite frankly, I blame my parents. I say that like my personality is a bad awful thing to be blamed on someone. I guess I just think if this is the personality type that comprises a mere 1% of the population, you’d think so… evolution and all.
I’m on my way out, perhaps? Or perhaps it’s just the beginning of a new breed… a new type emerging?

Yeah, right. :)
